Dr. Zuzana Vaitová leaves the group to work at the Bulovka hospital in Prague. Many thanks for all your work, Zuzana, and best of luck at your new position!
Dr. Kathrin Bach leaves the group for her postdoc to Irene Vercellino's group at Forschungszentrum Jülich, Germany, to learn cryoEM. Thanks for everything! We will miss you, and wish you good luck!
Dr. Denise Liu Gracias Leone leaves the group for her postdoc in Steven Verhlest's group at KU Leuven, Belgium. It was great to have you around! Best of luck!
Kathrin Bach passes her viva at the Charles University with flying colours presenting her dissertation thesis "Structural mechanism of intramembrane proteolysis by rhomboid proteases and its implications for inhibitor design". Congratulations, Dr. Bach!
Dr. Hana Dvořáková rejoins the group after maternity leave. Welcome back, Hana!
Yurii Dubanych joins the group as a doctoral student. Yurii has studied biochemistry at the Charles University and has done his master thesis in the lab of Ondřej Vaněk. Yurii will help push the boundaries in rhomboid protease inhibitors and activity based probes, focusing on disease related contexts. Welcome, Yurii! I look forward to working together.
Several group members have participated at an excellent meeting “Proteolysis at the membrane – from signaling to disease” organised by Stefan Lichtenthaler, Lucia Chavez-Gutierrez and Colin Adrain at Kloster Seeon close to Munich. Fantastic science, location and company! Thanks everyone for their great contributions.
We spent three great days at the lab retreat at the Špindler chalet in Krkonoše. Talking science, hiking and having fun. Very empowering and relaxing.
Helena Caisová joins the group as a doctoral student. Helena has studied molecular cell biology at the Charles University and will work on the regulation of ADAM17 and iRhom. Welcome, Helena!
